Job Description___________________________________________________________________________Job title: Peripatetic Percussion TeacherReports to: Director of Music___________________________________________________________________Main Tasks and ResponsibilitiesTeaching• To teach Percussion to pupils in individual ½ hour lessons;• To offer kit, snare drum, timps and/or orchestral tuned percussion;• Opportunity to develop a percussion ensemble;• Opportunity to help provide percussion parts in regular orchestral rehearsals andconcerts, and the school jazz band;• Provide each pupil with a short piece to play in our termly class concerts;• Provide the opportunity to take a music level/exam – the scholl has its ownassessment system as well as an examination session each term;• The post currently offers 3 hours work per week with the opportunity to build thenumber of hours based on generating pupil interest;• Any other duties as commensurate with the post, that the Headmaster or Director ofMusic may from time to time ask the Visiting Music Teacher to perform.Public Relations• To be readily and enthusiastically available to Parents, displaying approachabilityand professionalism at all times.September 2011
