Children arelearning traditional clapping games from a DVD which runs at play time. From after half term there will be a hop scotch area in the Reef and furtherones will eventually appear in the main play area. Mrs Jones hasalso purchased a Compendium of Games for the children to use in theirfree time. All children have been given the opportunity to design afriendship bench.

In addition, our year 6 pupils will be visiting Pre-Prep at play time, once aweek, in order to give Year 2 pupils in particular an opportunity to meetolder members of the school. From the Pre-PrepRanger VisitOn Thursday morning, the New Forest Ranger came to visit the Preprep, her name was Claire! She talked to each class about the history of the New Forest and explainedthat it wasn‟t really „New‟, but nearly 1000 years old.The Ranger asked us what animals were allowed to graze in the forestand then showed us some deer skins with different patterns and thicknesses. She passed around lots of objects including antler, bones andeven droppings, and we had to guess which animals they were from.Claire had a lovely book which had pictures and sounds of the New Forestanimals so that we can listen out for their calls when we are walkingin the woods.Claire Holly
