The Migration 41Most High, “We have made your husband the Seal of theSainthood of Prophet Muhammad SLM . You perform his tasdiq[confirm and affirm him as the Mahdi AS ].” The Bibi RZ heard thisvoice many times but controlled herself. Then she told the Imam ASwhat she had seen and heard. Hazrat Imam AS confirmed the reverieand said, “We too are informed thus from the Generous Giver ofGifts Allah Most High, ‘We have made you the Mahdi al-Mau'oodbut when the time of manifesting this matter comes, it will beannounced.’” Then the Bibi RZ respectfully touched the feet of theImam AS and said, “Miranji! Please forgive me if I have committedany mistake earlier and bear witness that I have performed thetasdiq of the Mahdiship of the Miran [that is, Hazrat ImamMahdi AS ]. I have great respect and belief in you, as much as I havein Hazrat Prophet Muhammad SLM .”It is narrated that Hazrat Bandagi Miran Syed Mahmood RZ[firstson of Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS ] heard the conversation between theImam AS and the Bibi RZ from outside the tent. He becameunconscious and fell down. Hazrat Imam AScame, lifted andbrought him into the tent. He took the hand of the Bibi RZ into hisown hands and placing it on the chest of his son said, “See! Hisbones, flesh, blood and skin, everything has become La ilaha illaLlah [There is no god but God].” Then the Imam AS placed his ownhand on his own chest and then placed it on the chest of his sonand said, “Whatever has been [divinely] placed here is placedthere.” The Imam ASrepeated this sentence and the gesture threetimes. Then, when Hazrat Bandagi Miran Syed Mahmood RZ regained hisconsciousness, he told what all he had experienced as had done hismother earlier. Then he performed the tasdiq of the Mahdiship ofthe Imam AS . He also gave innumerable divine glad tiding to hisson. We will write about them at the appropriate place, Allahwilling.42Shawahid Al-Vilayat8.1 Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZThis is about Hazrat Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZ , who wasamong the companions of the Imam AS ; he also performed thetasdiq of Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS . It is stated that Shah Dilawar RZwas behind the tent of the Imam AS . He heard all the details of theevents leading to the tasdiq by Hazrat Bibi RZand Hazrat SyedMahmood RZ from the beginning to the end. When the Imam AS cameout of the tent for the zuhr [afternoon] prayers, Shah Dilawar RZ toldhim what Hazrat Bibi RZ and Syed Mahmood RZ had told the Imam ASearlier. This narrative is about Hazrat Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZcoming into the service of Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS . When the Imamof the Land and the Oceans [that is, Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS ] wonthe victory in the war with Dalpat Rai and the latter was slain bythe Imam AS , Sultan Husain Sharqi found Bandagi Miyan ShahDilawar RZand holding the hand of the Shah RZ , the Sultan said,“This is the sarmaya [literally capital, figuratively the major gain]of our ghanimat [plunder of war].” At that time the age of theShah RZ was about 10 or12 years. The Sultan took the boy and gavehim to his issueless sister. That is why they call Hazrat ShahDilawar RZ the adopted son of that sister. In short, the condition of the Barguzida-e-La-Yazal [Chosen ofGod] Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZ from the beginning was thathe was immersed in the divine ecstasy and the Love of God. Heused to remain for hours in this state. And then he would gainconscience. On the basis of this, both the Sultan and his sister said,“This son is worthy of remaining in the service of the Imam AS .When he went to and met the Imam AS , the latter welcomed himwith the words, “Muridullah ho jao, Muridullah ho jao,Muridullah ho jao.” 1 Then the Imam AS placed his hand on the handof Shah Dilawar RZ , he said thrice, “Muradullah ho jao.” 2Immediately, Hazrat Shah Dilawar RZ went into a divine ecstasy. He1 It means ‘Become the disciple of Allah.’2 It means ‘Become the purport of Allah.’
The Migration 43remained in this ecstasy for seven years. But he did not miss hisdaily ritual prayers even once. When he [Bandagi Miyan ShahDilawar RZ ] regained his senses, he asked, “Where is Hazrat SyedMuhammad AS ?” The attendants said, “He has already started hisjourney to go to Ka’batullah.” Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZ gotup after hearing this and started his journey to meet the Imam AS .He used too say, “The fragrance of Hazrat Miran AS [Hazrat ImamMahdi AS ] is pulling me gradually to the presence of the Imam AS .” 1He said, “I did not know when it was the day and when it was thenight.” Some time later, he arrived in the august presence of HazratImam Mahdi AS at the city of Ahmadabad [in Gujarat]. At that time, the Imam AShad reached Ahmadabad after performing the Hajpilgrimage. When Hazrat Imam AS saw him first, he said, “Shortenyour sight.” Immediately, the divine ecstasy of Bandagi MiyanShah Dilawar RZ ended and he became fully conscious. One night, Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS2 was sitting with some of hiscompanions. Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZ arrived. The Imam ASasked, “Who is it?” Some brother said, or possibly Bandagi MiyanShah Dilawar RZhimself said, “This banda [servant] is Dilawar.”Hazrat Imam ASsaid, “Do not call him Dilawar. Call him ShahDilawar.”Further, Hazrat Imam ASsaid, “Shah Dilawar is nobler than thenobles.”It is narrated that Hazrat Imam ASsaid, “Allah Most High hasilluminated everything from the Empyrean to the nether regions ofthe earth for Shah Dilawar RZ as a grain of mustard in the palm of aman.”1 Here the titles of the Imam AS are: Imam-e-Zaman [Leader of the Time], Hadi-e-Ahl-e-Jahan [The guide of the people of the world].2 Here the titles of the Imam AS are: Amir-e-Amiran [Leader of the Leaders], Pire-Piran[Spiritual Guide of the Spiritual Guides], Mehtar-e-Sarwaran [Princeof the Lords].44Shawahid Al-VilayatFurther, Hazrat Imam Mahdi AShas said, “Bandagi Miyan ShahDilawar RZ is a man who knows the state [hal] of the heart.”It is narrated that Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS has said, “If a person seesa dream or falls into a reverie, he should get it interpreted by thisbanda. If this banda is not present, He should get it interpreted byHazrat Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZ .”Hazrat Imam AS told Hazrat Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZ , “OMiyan Dilawar! After you there will be khulafa-e-zathi-o-sifati[vice-regents, personal and of the attributes], as there will be afterthis banda.”Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS told Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZ , “OMiyan Dilawar! The ulama-e-zahiri-o-batini [learned men of themanifest and the immanent knowledge] will come to you [as yourdisciples].” Eventually, it did happen as the Imam AS had said. Thevice-regents of Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZare famous.Bandagi Miyan Shah Abdul Karim RA , Bandagi Miyan AbdulMaalik RA , Bandagi Miyan Yusuf RA and Bandagi Miyan Abdullah RAand the ‘Alim-e-zahiri-o-Batini like Bandagi Miyan Abdul MalikSujawandi RAare the vice-regents of Bandagi Miyan ShahDilawar RZ .In favour of Hazrat Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZ , Hazrat ImamMahdi AS has said, “Where the banda is one, the second is ShahDilawar RZ . Where this banda is with two, Shah Dilawar RZis thethird. Where this banda is with three, Shah Dilawarrz is the fourth.Where this banda is with four, Shah Dilawar RZ is the fifth. In otherwords, where Hazrat Bibi Ilahditi RZ was not with the Imam AS , ShahDilawar RZ was the second person in the service of the Imam AS .When Bibi Budhan RZ , the first daughter of the Imam AS was born, the fourth in the service of the Imam AS was Shah Dilawar RZ . Whenhis son, Hazrat Bandagi Miran Syed Mahmood RZwas born, thefifth in the service of the Imam ASwas Bandagi Miyan ShahDilawar RZ .
