Bandagi Miyan Shah Nizam RZ was a religious person. Hehad given up the kingdom of Jais. 1 Then he resorted to migration.Whenever or wherever he heard about a Shaikh or a pious elderlyperson, he would go to him with the intention of becoming hisdisciple [murid]. But after meeting the celebrity, he gotdisappointed and returned empty handed. When he met the Shaikhal-Islam,he felt some inclination to become his murid. He told theShaikh about his aim. The Shaikh told him, “O Miyan Nizam! Youare so broad minded and magnanimous that none other than theKhatam-e-Vilayat [Seal of Sainthood] can satisfy you. You waitfor his zat-e-‘ali-darjat [Essence of high ranks].”After listening to this, Hazrat Bandagi Miyan Shah Nizam RZ cameto Chapanir and camped at the mosque of Salim Khan for learning.Salim Khan had become a great devotee of the Shah RZ . Salim Khanheard the news of the arrival of the Imam AS and went to meet him.When he returned, he informed Bandagi Miyan Shah Nizam RZ , “OMiyan Nizam! The kind of Murshid you wanted has appeared.” 2Hearing this, Bandagi Miyan Shah Nizam RZstarted to come tomeet Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS . Meanwhile, a command of Allaharrived, “O Syed Muhammad! Our servant is coming. Hold hishand and reach him to Us.” Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS came out [of his58Shawahid Al-Vilayathujra (room)] talked to the Shah RZ and imparted talqin [initiation]to him. The Shah RZ remained with the Imam AS till the last breath ofthe latter. The Imam AS has given a number of glad tidings to theShah RZ . Seven of them are as follows. ● He has seen and tasted; ●Drinker of the Ocean [of Divinity]; ● Inebriated at times and insenses at times; ● Bowl of Blame; ● “Men whom neithermerchandise or sale beguileth from remembrance of Allah…” 1 ●Witness to the Vision of Allah through the physical eyes in thisworld; ● The subject under discussion was the attributes of HazratAbu Bakr Siddiq RZ 2 . They are more than 300 in number. BandagiMiyan Shah Nizam RZ asked, “Does any one of us have any of thoseattributes?” In reply, Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS said, “They are presentin you from the head to the foot.”Then know, O Musaddiq! After the Imam AS left Chanderi at thecommand of Allah Most High, innumerable, that is, thousands ofpeople of religion and piety became the devotees of Hazrat Imamal-Abrar,Amir-al-Ahrar. 3 Their number continued to increase asthe Imam AS continued his journey day by day from place to place.Many of them joined the followers of the Imam AS in his migratoryjourney.
