The Migration 45Further, the Imam AS had appointed Bandagi Miyan Shah Dilawar RZas the fifth Khalifa of his zath-e-‘Ali Sifat [Essence of HighAttributes]. The abilities and praises of Bandagi Miyan ShahDilawar RZare innumerable. But the aim here is to shorten thewriting.8.2 Bandagi Miyan Shaikh Bhik RZIn short, there is a town between Danapur and Chanderi. HazratImam Mahdi AS camped near it in a forest. Bandagi Miyan ShaikhBhik RZ , one of his eminent companions, with another companion,went to the town for some work. At one place, he saw that a largenumber of ordinary and important people had gathered at a placelamenting immoderately. Miyan Shaikh Bhik RZasked some ofthem why they were doing this. They said that their communitychief had died. The Shaik RZasked them to show him the deadperson’s body. When he saw the body, he said, “This person is notdead.” He took the hand of the dead body in his own hand andsaid, “Get up!” The dead person revived and stood up. All thepeople turned to the Shaikh RZand started saying things [thatviolated the Shari’at]. Shaikh RZ got annoyed and started runningaway from the crowd and came to the Imam AS . When the peoplewho had received the bahra [share of bounty—faiz] of the HazratImam Mahdi AS , the Seal of the Sainthood of Hazrat ProphetMuhammad SLM , had achieved the position of Hazrat prophet Esa AS ,they should avoid saying, “Qum bi Izn Allah—stand up by thecommand of Allah.”The crowd followed the Shaikh RZ . The Imam AS said, “Send themaway. Why are they following a person who is a faqir? Why dothey assign the attribute of the Creator [God] to the created [aman]?” The people were sent away. Then he asked Hazrat MiyanShaikh Bhik RZwhat the matter was. He related the whole story.Then the Imam AS said, “You have spoiled your own reputation.”The Imam AS became very anxious after this incident. He performedthe niyat [intention] of the Saum-e-Tayy [a three-day fast]. During46Shawahid Al-Vilayatthe day the Imam ASfasted and during the night he supplicated[munajat], “O Allah Most High! Do not involve my followers inthe evil of karamat [minor miracles].” After three days, thecommand of Allah arrived, “We have liberated your followersfrom the evil of karamat.”Hazrat Imam AS has said, “Miyan Shaikh Bhik RZ is the qaim-muqam[viceroy] of Hazrat Prophet Esa AS .”It is narrated that one day Hazrat Shaikh Bhik RZ fell into a divineecstasy. The words coming from his mouth repeatedly were:“Hamah Haq ast—All is the Truth [that is, God].” Because of thisHazrat Imam Mahdi AS went to him, stood near his head and asked,“Are you seeing this or saying this?” The Shaikh RZ repeated whathe was saying: All is the Truth!” Hazrat Imam AS said, “Knowing itis Faith [iman]. Saying it is kufr [infidelity].” But the Shaikh RZrepeated the same phrase. Then the Imam AS said thrice, “Why haveyou attached yourself to the kuhna [old, ancient] Khuda [God].”Then the Imam AS recited the Persian quartet, which means: “I amtired of your ancient God [that is, the ancient manifestations ofGod]. / Every moment there is a new God [that is, a newmanifestation o God] for me.”8.3 At ChanderiAfter this incident the Imam ASleft the place and arrived atChanderi. Here people were greatly talking about the Imam AS .They said that the Imam AS was a great vali [saint]. They said heseparates the Haq [the Truth] from the batil [Falsehood]. Theysaid, “No such person was born after the Prophet Muhammad SLMtill now nor will such a person ever be born.” Large crowdsgathered to listen to his dawat [call, invitation] unto Allah.
