Avisit to the Isle of Man can be any sort of holiday you want it to be because there’s never a dull moment, whatever your age and<br />

interests. Fabulous scenery, medieval castles, Victorian railways and trams, beautiful parks and gardens, countless sporting activities,<br />

fascinating museums and superb Manx wining, dining and entertainment, the Isle of Man has it all! This charming and friendly island<br />

has over 200 square miles of beautiful unspoilt countryside and a coastline with little coves and superb beaches. Our base is the island<br />

capital, Douglas, with its horse drawn trams, Victorian pier and little specialist shops.<br />

YOUR ITINERARY:<br />

Thursday 5th: We travel north to Heysham foe the<br />

early afternoon crossing to Douglas<br />

Friday 6th: First to Laxey, home of the famous ‘Lady<br />

Isabella’ water wheel, and the Laxey Woollen Mill.<br />

Later we continue to the north of the island to<br />

Ramsey and return to Douglas following part of the<br />

TT races course along the slopes of Snaefell.<br />

Saturday 7th: We visit the south of the island – first<br />

stop is Castletown, the island’s former capital, and<br />

then on to Cregneash, with stunning views of the Calf<br />

of Man. Port Erin, its beautiful bay guarded by the<br />

bulk of Bradda Head, is our next stop and we end the<br />

The ‘Most Beautiful Corner of England’ is the description that is often used to describe<br />

Cumbria’s Lake District, which has been an inspiration of so many for centuries, and just<br />

one visit will make you realise that it’s perfectly true! The breathtaking countryside and<br />

picturesque villages of the Lake District have inspired many a writer over the years.<br />

YOUR ITINERARY:<br />

Sunday 29th: We travel north along the motorways<br />

to Carlisle and check-in at the Hallmark Hotel.<br />

Monday 30th: A drive to Keswick, the ‘Queen of<br />

Lakeland’. Returning to our hotel alongside Ullswater.<br />

Tuesday 31st: A full day excursion via Coniston, the<br />

little town known for its associations with the author,<br />

artist and social reformer John Ruskin. Coniston<br />

Water is where Donald Campbell met his death<br />

during the speed trials of his boat Bluebird in January<br />

1967, and Ambleside. Continuing to Windermere, the<br />

largest and most famous lake in the Lake District.<br />

Sunday 8th: A day at leisure in Douglas<br />

Monday 9th: An early breakfast before we check out<br />

of our hotel and then take the crossing from Douglas<br />

to Heysham and home.<br />
