Knowledge Transfer and Stakeholder Dialogue<strong>CABERNET</strong> has focused on bringing together ideas and information, as well asstimulating the development of new initiatives. The challenge of achieving valuedrivensustainable brownfield regeneration should not be underestimated, but inorder to ensure a cohesive urban society this challenge must be met. There is animportant role for <strong>CABERNET</strong> in partnership with other related professional networks,to facilitate the development of brownfield solutions that are acceptable to a multistakeholdercommunity of decision-makers and affected parties.The <strong>Network</strong> has acted as a valuable information resource and as a ‘tool’ in itself forstimulating innovative topic debate and highlighting the importance of this issuefor our collective European future. <strong>CABERNET</strong> 2005: The International Conferenceon Urban Land Management (held on 13-15 April 2005 at the Belfast Waterfront Hall)was the first conference of a series. <strong>CABERNET</strong> 2007: The 2nd International Conferencewill be held in 2007 in Stuttgart (www.cabernet.org.uk). One of the main goals ofthe conference series, and the <strong>Network</strong> activities, is to establish multi-stakeholderdialogue and wider engagement to ensure that truly sustainable urban regenerationis our legacy to future generations.133
