Entireinterior was neglected and ruined.Renovation took five years, and works started from - the roof.All inside walls were tore down so that only four walls witha roof remained. The lady owner, an interior decorator byprofession, had a precise vision how the house should looklike, and her husband agreed with her desires. They werenot up to some luxury in the house meant for relaxation buteverything should be simple, subdued to the Mediterraneanstyle – vivid stone and wood as well blue and white colours.Their house consists of house and old fire place behind thehouse, and entirely has 130 square metres.The ground floor comprises of spacious bathroom and loungeoriented toward the north with an open view on thesea. White bathroom with a flange of blue ceramics is sufficientlylarge to hide behind the cupboard door a washingmachine, heating power unit and all other things which anyhousewife would like to hide from curious look. The bathroomas well as the lounge is filled with blue and white details:shelves, candles, flowers...Over the dinning room there is a dominating white sectional,while unique white chest of drawers and accompanyingcupboard found their proper place. On the walls thereare paintings of Vasko Lipovac, Mladen Veža, Tin Jurjević iGertraude’s grandfather Ekhat. Shelves are reserved for shipscale models which proud lady owner has been collectingfor years. From the living room there is an access to the terracemade of stone brought from adjoining little island Vrnika.Walls of town Korčula was built from Vrnika stone, which isconsidered to be by its quality equal to Brač stone. Underthe terrace there is a cistern. Rain water is used for wateringgarden full of lemon-trees, lavender and rosemary.
