InteriorsLoomba -a Dream FactoryA unique furniture “Made in Croatia“ hidden behind thename of “Loomba furniture“ is a workmanship of academicsculptor Mr. Marijan Ramljak. Entirely hand crafted itwill, by its joyful design, fill every home with emotionsWritten by: Ana PerišinInnovative and joyful – are the best words to describeMr. Marijan Ramljak’s design. Hidden behind thename of “Loomba furniture“, his ideas already thrillus for several years. He gained his first experience inwood and similar materials during the high school, whichcontinued all through the Academy of Fine Arts wherehe graduated sculpture in 2001. Designer alone saysthat the idea originated from obvious lack on the marketof something new and different. Also, he wanted toenable people to make their own furniture designs, ofcourse, with his assistance. In the dream factory, as Loomba like to call itself, besideschildren’s furniture, which is always the first brand association, they are producing even retro furniture, that is, classicalfurniture following the example of old artisans as well asmodern furniture of pure lines style. Each piece of furnitureis a unique work of art by itself. Always unconventional, oftenornamented by various images of animals, especiallychildren’s furniture, the Loomba furniture will create in anyroom an empire of enjoyment filled with emotions.A special attention is paid to very craftsmanship. TheLoomba furniture is completely hand crafted. From anidea to the very realisation it should go through severalphases of woodworking until the final product. The most often used material are MDF panels (mediapan) because, as Mr. Ramljak states, they meet all Europeanstandards, but also wood, from ordinary to evenexotic,is used. Paints that are used are ecological andharmless for health.Although Croatia is known for better appreciation ofwell known designer’s names, Mr. Marijan Ramljak is satisfiedwith public reaction, even if people still do not recognizethe difference between industrial and unique, hand crafted furniture. He does not, even remotely, think about furniture massproduction because, as he says, it would disturb the particularityof each piece as unique item and cause thefurniture to lose its charm.Future does not worry him. As he believes, for good ideasthere will always be an open door.69
