The F3J WorldChampionship Fly-offsThe Individual EventThe fly-offs only determine the individualplacing. The team event is already over.Unfortunately for AJ, all the previousscores are scratched and the pilots startover with a clean slate. The fly-offs consisted of six rounds, but the window was increased from tenminutes to 15 minutes. Even with thelonger windows, so few were flying itseemed like it was over before it started. All of the exciting stuff already happened. There were no more mid-airs or offfieldlandings for Team USA. No planesexploded on launch. The pilots, thethrowers, and the towmen were all actinglike a well oiled machine.Daryl Perkins moved from 11th in thepreliminaries to 6th in the fly-off. If apilot flew five 1000 point rounds, themaximum score would be 5000 points.Daryl was just 8.6 points out of firstplace.Brendon Beardsley finished second injunior class, just 3.8 points out of first.AJ McGowan finished in third place, just5.4 points out of first. The fourth placejunior finisher was 226 points out of first. The US Junior F3J Team with their awards.
