Tinamous are strictly neotropical birds— not found outside the tropics, andnowhere but in the Americas. They arelarge-bodied, almost tailless birds withslender necks and small heads, maybe30% larger than a bobwhite. They flybut prefer to walk or run, and they’resecretive.Well, so much for the name. Sixyears ago I happened upon an articleabout a flying wing built and flown byHerk Stokely. See On The Wing... TheBook, Volume 2 #101 - “A Comparisonof Two Taillesss RC-HLG’s.” I wanted a bigger flying wing thanHerk’s little HLG wing and chose toenlarge his model to 100" wingspan.So I had cut the wing cores using whitebead foam as I intended to use balsasheeting for the skin.
