These results reflect community interest in alternativetraining and employment programs <strong>of</strong>fered through Council sponsored programs. These initiatives are a directresponse to community need.Use <strong>of</strong> the Advanced Manufacturing Design Centre reduced significantly this past year. This is due to the focus<strong>of</strong> local companies on tendering for mining and defence contracts and less for <strong>au</strong>tomotive contracts. Differents<strong>of</strong>tware is required for mining and defence industries than the design centre currently <strong>of</strong>fers.26
