These results reflect community interest in alternativetraining and employment programs offered through Council sponsored programs. These initiatives are a directresponse to community need.Use of the Advanced Manufacturing Design Centre reduced significantly this past year. This is due to the focusof local companies on tendering for mining and defence contracts and less for automotive contracts. Differentsoftware is required for mining and defence industries than the design centre currently offers.26
