Pressure Support BreathsFor Pressure Support breaths 10 , flow is delivered to elevate the circuit pressure to the PressureSupport setting and maintain it at that pressure until the flow drops below a variable percentage of thepeak flow. Pressure Support breaths may also be cycled by a variable time limit, or by exceeding 2breath periods. Pressure support breaths are patient type breaths. For some patients, it may be useful to adjust the variable flow termination percentage. Adjusting theFLOW TERM setting between 10% and 40% will change the length, volume and comfort of theinspiration.10 Pressure Control and Pressure Support breaths do compensate for PEEP. For example, a Pressure Controlsetting of 20cmH 2 O and a PEEP setting of 10cmH 2 O results in a Peak Inspiratory Pressure (PIP) of 30cmH 2 O(20 cmH 2 0 over the set PEEP).Operator’s Manual LTV ® 1200 Ventilator Page 3-5p/n 18247-001, Rev.
