Among global CSOs as members of the WBCSO Consultative Group for Health, Nutrition and Population, <strong>MEDiCAM</strong> is amember of HSS Task Force and Health Care Financing Task Force, writingposition paper on those two topics to influence the WB policy on HSS and HealthCare Financing in its coming <strong>Annual</strong> Meeting in 2012 in Tokyo.Three NGO good practices have been collected—(1) Emergency Obstetric andNewborn Care, (2) Safe Abortion, and (3) Home-based care. All these documentsare available at our website.<strong>MEDiCAM</strong> in partnership with VSO has been conducting a qualitative researchon understanding health worker motivation in five regions of Cambodia (Ministryof Health’s Regions)—Stung Treng, Bantey Meanchey, Kampong Cham, Takeo,and Phnom Penh. The objectives of the research are to come to a betterunderstanding of why health workers adopt behaviors that impact negatively onpatients and to look for solutions in policy and practice to improve staffmotivation and morale. It is expected that the research will provide valuableevidence for policy change dialogue with government and donor levelstakeholders and capacity building with NGOs and health workers within thesector. For year <strong>2011</strong>, the field data collection has completed within 4 regions. Itis expected that the preliminary results will be in April 2012 and the final reportwill be probably in June 2012.<strong>MEDiCAM</strong> in partnership with Center of Health Market Innovation (CHMI) inVietnam with the support from Results for Development Institute (R4D)conducted studies on identifying Health Market Innovations which have beenimplemented in Cambodia by government, Development Partners, Private Sectoror NGOs. In <strong>2011</strong>, <strong>MEDiCAM</strong> has collected 53 project profiles with potentialHealth Market Innovations. Of which, 6 cases were selected for documents ofHealth Market Innovation. These include (1) Fast Track Initiative for reducingmaternal and newborn care, (2) Lake Clinic program on Tonle Sap, (3) HealthEquity Fund managed by pagoda, (4) Special Operation Agency (SOA), (5) SmartPhone, and (6) Oral Sel.
