ASI-IP-GTW User's Manual2 Installing the Equipment2.1 Introduction2.1.1 Read this first!The ASI-IP-GTW must be handled carefully and thoughtfully to preventsafety hazards and damage. Ensure that the personnel designated toinstall the unit have the appropriate skills and knowledge.Follow the instructions for installation and only use installationaccessories recommended by the manufacturer.2.1.2 To inspect package contentooInspect the shipping container for damage. If your shippingcontainer is damaged, keep the shipping container or cushioningmaterial until you have inspected the contents of the shipment forcompleteness and have checked that the ASI-IP-GTWmechanically and electrically.Verify that you received the following items and any optionalaccessories you may have ordered:oooASI to IP GatewayPower cordUser’s manualNote: 48V DC versions do not ship with a power cord, but a malePower D-SUB connector for soldering to the supply leads.2.2 Installing the Equipment2.2.1 Selecting a site for the equipmentThe ASI-IP-GTW should not be placed where it will be a subject toextreme temperatures, humidity, or electromagnetic interference.Specifically, the site you select should meet the following requirements:oooooThe ambient temperature should be between 0 to 50 degreesCelsius (32 and 122 degrees Fahrenheit).The relative humidity should be less than 90 percent, noncondensing.Do not install the unit in areas of high humidity orwhere there is danger of water ingress.Surrounding electrical devices should not exceed theelectromagnetic field (RFC) standards for IEC 801-3, Level 2(3V/M) field strength.Make sure that the equipment receives adequate ventilation. Donot block the ventilation holes on each side of the ASI-IP-GTW.The power outlet should be within 1.8 meters (6 feet) of the ASI-IP-GTW.Page 15
