This facilitywill be extended only to those ITBP establishmentssituated at high altitude i.e. 9000 feet & above. In theirarea of responsibility ITBP personnel can hire portersand animals from road head where no other mode oftransport is available.Besides above the facility for engaging portersand animal transport is also extended to those who aredrawing basic pay below Rs. 4100/- in the pre-revised payscale (in the Grade Pay of Rs 2800/- and below post 6thCPC) at par with old Grade-IV authorization as providedin GIO No (3) and (4) below SR-46. However, in the caseof Grade IV under GIO (3) below SR-46 in respect of thefacility for Arunachal Pradesh, the discretionary authoritywill be Controlling offi cers instead of Political Offi cers/Deputy Commissioners or equivalent as is provided inGIO No.(4) below said SR-46.14
