Back to basics : DG at BTCShri R.K. Bhatia (DG, ITBP) along with Shri Rajdeep Singh (IG,NW Ftr)(1 st from left) & Shri H.S. Bhatia, DG, ITBP visited BTC, a premiumtraining centre of ITBP, on 8 th May 2010 along with ShriRajdeep Singh, IG (NW) Frontier. Shri H.S. Goraya, DIG,BTC welcomed the chief and IG, NW Ftr.After presentation of ceremonial guard and introductionwith the offi cers, DG interacted with the offi cers of thecentre in the Offi cers Mess. He appreciated the upkeepand maintenance of the Offi cers Mess. The DG discussedthe proposed action plan of BTC in threadbare details andasked DIG, BTC to phase the proposed works over a periodof two to three fi nancial years. After the presentation, theDG visited the training area where a demonstration onthe tactics of LW extremists and measures to counter thesame by effective patrolling by well trained CPMF sub unitswas given. The demonstration also integrated the use ofIWESS.DG ITBP meeting the recruits at BTC, BhanuThe DG took a round of the training area and the variousinfrastructures and keenly observed the training activities ofthe centre. Later, he visited the museum of the centre andadvised DIG, BTC to send a proposal for upgradation of themuseum so that the heritage of BTC is better showcased.The DG, ITBP inaugurated the newly constructed viewinggallery of the short range and the newly installed X-raymachine at the unit Hospital.The DG addressed the trainees and staff of thecentre in Sainik Sabha. During the Sainik Sabha, DG ITBPappreciated the training efforts of the BTC and reiteratedthe emphasis on professional training. The Sainik Sabhawas followed by tea in Himveer Vatika where he interactedinformally with the recruits and staff of BTC.5
