<strong>ITBP</strong> Releases Book on KM Yatrato manage any disaster. The route to KailashMansarovar Yatra is considered one of the mostdiffi cult and challeng<strong>in</strong>g. Yatries have to face thediffi cult snow clad mounta<strong>in</strong>s, glaciers, landslidesand unpredictable weather conditions at very highaltitudes. One has always the fear of high altitudediseases, such as High Altitude Illness (HAI),Acute Mounta<strong>in</strong> Sickness(AMS), High AltitudeCerebral Edema(HACE), High Altitude PulmonaryEdema(HAPE) etc. The <strong>ITBP</strong> takes care of yatriesto save them from these diseases.Shri R.K.Bhatia, DG, <strong>ITBP</strong>(centre) along with Shri Anirudh Uppal (ADG)Shri Pramod Asthana (IG, Spl Ftr) & Shri A.P.S. Nimbadia, Comdt. 7 th Bn releas<strong>in</strong>gthe book on old route of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra discovered by <strong>ITBP</strong>Shri R.K. Bhatia, Director General, <strong>ITBP</strong> released thebook titled "Kumaon aur Kailash " on Kailash Mansarovar Yatra<strong>in</strong> the presence of 59 Kailash Mansarovar yatries of 4 th batch atBase Hospital, <strong>ITBP</strong>, Tigri Camp, New Delhi. The book has beenedited by Shri A.P.S. Nimbadia, Commandant. Himveers of 7 th Bn<strong>ITBP</strong>, Mirthi (Uttrakhand) discovered an ancient route from Gala toKathgodam by conduct<strong>in</strong>g 6 track<strong>in</strong>g expeditions and collected oldhistorical maps ,records ,letters and photos. The book 'Kumaon aurKailash' has been written on the basis of ancient monuments and<strong>in</strong>formations collected dur<strong>in</strong>g this track<strong>in</strong>g expedition.The detailed and fi nal medical briefi ng of 59 yatries wasdone by Dr. T.Ravi Prasad, IG (Med) and Dr. Rakesh Tiwari (CMO)of Base Hospital <strong>ITBP</strong>. These pilgrims proceeded on 26 days yatrato holy Kailash under security and care of <strong>ITBP</strong>. This batch left Delhion 19 th June 2010 for Almora and reachedAlmora on the same day. The Yatriescross Indian <strong>Border</strong> at Lipulekh Pass.Thecurrent route passes through Dharchula,Tavaghat, Mangti, Gala, Budhi, Gunji,Kalapani, Navidhang and Lipulekh <strong>in</strong>Indian territory.The Yatra started on 1 st June, 2010 andit will end on 24 th Sept, 2010.Total 16 batches willparticipate <strong>in</strong> this Yatra. First batch departed on1 st June, 2010. The 16 th batch, the last batch, willleave Delhi on 30 th August and will return back on24 th september, 2010.Shri R.K.Bhatia, DG, <strong>ITBP</strong> <strong>in</strong>teract<strong>in</strong>g with media afterreleas<strong>in</strong>g the bookShri R.
