MESSAGE FROM THE CLUB CAPTAINBy Bill CarcaryI would like to announce that Jim Froese has accepted theposition of Vice Captain. Jim is a longtime member of BeachGrove, an avid golfer, and will bring a lot of insight andknowledge to our various committees. Welcome Jim! The course is recovering nicely from ourmaintenance work and it’s time to play the ball down. A thank you to Ian and his crew for getting the coursein great shape.Unfortunately our home and home inter‐club with Gorge Vale had to be cancelled this year due to a lack ofplayers on our part. Gorge Vale had 30 players signed up to come here, but we could only come up with 18.This has been a long standing event in the club schedule, and the Match committee will be looking to see if itcontinues in the future.For our first Corporate Night on May 30, we have a new sponsor in “Cambie Surgery”. Welcome, and thankyou for your support. The regular Men’s nights will continue on most Wednesdays in June, followed by a CorporateNight on June 27 sponsored by Unitech Construction Management.As the weather hopefully starts to improve,and Ian and his crew continue to makeBeach Grove a course to be proud of, we allneed to do our part to help. As we learnedin school about the 3 R’s, lets apply that tothe golf course. Remember to Replace/Repair divots, Rake traps & Repair ballmarks, and make the golf experience betterfor everyone.
