In this exciting interactive “Whodunit”,<br />

participants will use technology and<br />

science lab equipment to solve a burglary<br />

crime. Participants will evaluate a variety<br />

of physical, electronic and microscopic<br />

evidence. Basic lab tests will be conducted<br />

to fi gure out which “persons of interest”<br />

committed the crime. Th is simulated crime<br />

activity depicts a non-violent event.<br />

In this space simulation program, teams of<br />

participants will learn about basic rocketry,<br />

navigate through the hazards of space and<br />

control a robotic rover on the Martian<br />

surface. Th is interactive computer- based<br />

activity will expand each participant’s perspective<br />

about space and technology as they<br />

investigate the questions concerning life<br />

on Mars. Participants will use the provided<br />

tablet computers interactive among each<br />

other; learn about space technology issues<br />

and control robotic rovers while searching<br />

for signs of life on a model of Martian terrain.<br />

Th is program includes a brief historic lesson<br />

on the development modern astronomy;<br />

along with a Star Show that will showcase<br />

an aspect of our Solar System. Participants<br />

will learn about refractor and refl ector<br />

telescope designs. Each participant will construct<br />

a small basic refractor telescope. With<br />

good seeing weather, participants will test<br />

their telescopes and use a tablet computer<br />

to remotely control an onsite telescope. Th e<br />

decorate and test their wind turbines models.<br />
