Diane Wagner
began her career
at the Roselle Park
District in September
of1980 as a Pre-
School Teacher at the Clauss Center.
Diane has been a vital part of the
staff . It is clear to see her passion
for teaching and working with the
youngsters when watching her
interacting with her students. Her
hard work and dedication to the fi eld
of early childhood is appreciated not
only by the Roselle Park District staff ,
but by the parents and her students.
Our current preschool parents
describe her as, “a ray of sunshine,
inviting and welcoming not only to
her students but to us as the parents.”
Th ey say, “She is a great teacher,
patient and kind, and the kids just
love her and they respond to her
well.” Th e kids have a lot to say too.
When talking to the kids about their
teacher they say, “I love Miss Diane,
she is a good teacher, I like the crafts
we make, and I like that she lets us
play with the kitchen set and dragon
ship before we work on projects.”
Diane has touched many lives and
started kids on their educational
journeys, a few of these “kids” have
even returned as parents and now
have their kids in the district’s
preschool program. Diane is a valued
member of the Preschool Staff , and
we are all grateful for having her at
the Roselle Park District.

Curriculum encourages healthy relationships
and social interaction with other children.
Teachers promote the development of fi ne
and gross motor skills through playing with
toys, and singing and dancing to music.
Tiny Tots:
Age: 18 months-2.5 years
BY THE FIRST CLASS
Curriculum promotes positive relationships
and interactions by practicing social
skills such as sharing and listening. Teachers
support physical and social development
through circle time, play time, singing, dancing,
and crafts.
Soon 2B3:
Age: 2.5 years
BY SEPT 1 & WORKING ON POTTY TRAINING
Curriculum emphasizes a nurturing
atmosphere and an introduction to the
educational process which is inviting and
encouraging. Teachers assist children in
experiencing a positive separation from
home; provide opportunities to work with
various media forms, and help develop
listening and language skills. Appropriate
activities include opportunities to improve
gross and fi ne motor development, listening
to simple stories, basic art projects, and
working with toys, puzzles, and blocks.
Tot Rock (DC)
It’s music and fun rolled into one! Tot Rock
is an introductory music class with a large
sensory component.

Little Learners:
Age: 3

Curriculum exposes the children to structure,
routine, and following directions within
a schedule. Beginning concepts in reading,
writing, and math; encouraging growth
in social development, and promoting an
awareness of health and safety are also a
class focus. Appropriate activities include
providing a healthy outlet for imaginary and
dramatic play, working with manipulatives,
listening to stories, having special visitors,
going on fi eld trips, and opportunities for
students to express themselves.
Kindergarten
Readiness:
Age: 4
BY SEPT 1 AND POTTY TRAINED
Curriculum provides further development of
the educational concepts in literature, math,
and science, as well as social, emotional,
and physical growth. Activities provide a
print rich environment that stimulates the
development of language and literacy skills
in meaningful context. Th ere is a greater
variety of experiences to promote interest in
the community and the world outside the
student’s own. Th ere are more concentrated
fi ne motor skills such as writing letters and
numbers, cutting, gluing, painting, and using
manipulatives. Th ere are many opportunities
for making choices, developing problem
solving skills, becoming independent thinkers,
and developing confi dence. Children
also have visitors and go on fi eld trips to
enrich their studies of various themes.
Kid Rock (DC)
Each week we will use our imaginations
while singing songs, dancing to the beat,
playing with rhythm instruments and props,
and practicing fi ne and large motor skills.
