Plans for the month ahead start this very weekend with a full schedule. Fridayevening sees Paul and I sorting the 12 car rally, so that’s a 2am to bed.Saturday sees Anton and I off to Sidmouth for the Barbara Carter Rally sothat’s no sleep as its an all night event. Sunday sees Mike and I competing atSt Eval in the Pug 106, so that means im driving straight from the finish ofthe Barbara Carter, to my house, collect my wife and cars, and drive to StEval, thus arriving with about 6 hours sleep in approx 54 hours. I think I maywell be tired.Moving through the month we have a variety of events in the calendar, witha selection of rallies and social events, if your interested in any of them thenlet the organisers know ASAP and see what's what.My final word for this month is about the Centenary Dinner, for those of youwho were there, you know how good it was, for those who weren't, youmissed a very good night. Sadly, as with these types of events, they are noteveryone's cup of tea for a variety of reasons, to start with its not a cheapnight out, and for some its quite formal and as such not their thing. All I cansay is the next chance we have is the Plymouth Motor Club Dinner andDance in December where once again we will have the opportunity to wineand dine in style. Some are put off by the title of Dinner and Dance, assumingit’s a very formal affair, and whilst initially it is a refined and dignifiedevent, its simply all about having fun, a few drinks, a decent DJ normallyplays some decent music, and socially it’s a great chance to enjoy at anylevel, whether it’s a drinking competition in the bar afterwards, or a quietchat in a corner, either way its all about fun.I cant believe im talking about year end stuff when were just at the halfwaystage for 2008. The remainder of this year is still all about celebrating our100th year, so there is plenty on to enjoy at this time, so get your lead feetout for driving, your light feet out for dancing, your drinking feet out for socialising, and your smelly feet out for washing, cos after the rest of this yearyou will need to.RegardsAlfPage 8 www.plymouthmotorclub.co.uk August 2008
