4 Chapter 3: Using Intrusion ManagementThis chapter describes how to use the features of Intrusion Management in the SMS software.DMP XR500, DSC 4030 (SN4442) and HISEC PanelsViewing Intrusion AlarmsAlarms are displayed in the same way as other alarms in screens such as "Home/Monitoring/Alarms","Home/Monitoring/Graphics", "Home/Video & Audio/Virtual Matrix", "Reports/History/Activity" and"Reports/History/Predefined Reports/Activity".Note:• Acknowledging an alarm silences the alarm at the panel.• Clearing an alarm removes the alarm message from the alarm list at the panel.• You may not be able to clear an alarm if the area is still armed.• If Clear Alarm if Cleared on Intrusion Panel is selected in the "Maintenance/User &Preferences/System Preferences" screen, clearing an alarm at a panel automatically clears thealarm in the SMS software.Viewing GraphicsThe "Home/Monitoring/Graphics" screen can display the icons shown next, depending on how a graphichas been configured in the "Setup/Graphics/Setup" screen (page 22).42 Intrusion Management Installation and User Guide
Using Intrusion ManagementIcon Type Icon Graphic and Right-Click Commands Displayed Status InformationOutput(DSC, DMPandThorGuardsystems)Output Commands (see online help for standardcommands):Output On – Switches output on.Output Off – Switches output off.The status of an output is Output ON orOutput OFF (DSC and ThorGuard only).PanelPanel Commands (see online help for standardcommands):Set Clock – Sets the date and time at the panelto be the same as at the PC.Set Service Mode (CU30 and ThorGuard only) –Enables an installer to log into the panel from akeypad.Unset Service Mode (CU30 and ThorGuardonly) – Unsets service mode.Silence Alarm (CU30 and ThorGuard only) –Silences alarm sounds.The status can, for example, indicatewhether the panel is online or offline.The border of the icon is red when there isan unacknowledged alarm in the"Home/Monitoring/Alarms" screen.AreaArea Commands (see online help for standardcommands):Arm Area – Arms the area.Disarm Area – Disarms the area.Cancel Auto Arm (DMP systems only) –Cancels auto arming until the next day.Delay Autoarm (CU30, ThorGuard and DSCsystems only) – Delays automatic arming of thearea. The delay period is specified at theintrusion system.Silence Alarm (DSC systems only) – Silencesan alarm caused by a zone in the area.Double-clicking the icon displays an associatedmap, if configured (page 20). The border of theicon is red when there is an unacknowledgedalarm in the "Home/Monitoring/Alarms" screen(click the Acknowledge button in the Graphicsscreen to acknowledge an alarm).The status area near the top of the screendisplays the current status of the area.The status of the area is also indicated bythe color of the background:Blue – Armed.Green – Disarmed.Yellow (DSC, ThorGuard and CU30systems only) – Armed with securityreduced. See the following section for themeaning.Purple – Has problems. The area has azone that is in a fault, tamper or alarmcondition.Red – In Alarm.Gray – Panel offline.Note: The SMS software uses only thoseDMP messages with an Alarm or Troublestatus (see page 5).Intrusion Management Installation and User Guide 43
