The following regulations are to be read in conjunction with the provision of the Act, Statute<br />
and General Regulations of the <strong>University</strong> :<br />

MEDICAL SCIENCES - MEDICAL BIOCHEMISTRY, PHYSIOLOGY AND MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY<br />
BACHELOR OF MEDICAL SCIENCES<br />
Purpose of the Programme<br />
The programme is designed to provide theoretical and practical knowledge of the human body<br />
in an integrated manner to understand the mechanics and mechanism of human body. It<br />
offers training in a range of scientific skills : understanding of basic medical sciences, basic<br />
and applied aspects especially in clinical medicine, teaching skills in basic medical sciences,<br />
background information on scientific research methodology, and applying the basic principles in<br />
research to the advantage of community especially to those living in rural areas, and students<br />
in rural schools.<br />
The programme also offers additional training in human and animal experiments. The graduates<br />
of this programme will be able to pursue postgraduate training in science and become scientists<br />
with skills to carry out both basic and applied research. At the end of the program they should<br />
have acquired enough skill and confidence to carry out further research in medicine, veterinary<br />
science, dentistry and allied health professions. They can be trained to teach basic medical<br />
sciences at medical schools thereby meeting the local demands for qualified teachers in basic<br />
medical sciences.<br />
Delivery Mode : Full-time contact<br />
The programme will be delivered in a format that will be accessible to full-time students. It<br />
will be in the form of lectures, seminars, tutorials, laboratory practical sessions and self-directed<br />
learning.<br />
