Such additional courses are taken in all seriousness after full applicationof mind by the Student/Advisor/Dean of the college concerned. Therefore, a courseonce registered whether part of degree requirement or not be must cleared through apassing grade.Guidelines for Implementation of Regulations under clauses 23 to 28.(a) If any course of 300 and higher series is offered in the first semester after admission at thetime of registration the Advisor shall clearly indicate whether it is taken for credits or asnon-credit course. No change in this shall be permissible.(b) The post-graduate faculty should devise ways and means to review grades in post-graduatecourse after the end of each semester as is being done by other faculties.(c) Credits courses in certain majors which carry numbers in series below 500 should forpurposes of credit load of graduate student in a particular department who offer such coursesfor credits, be reconsidered and raised to 500 series or above.(d) For purpose of calculating OGPA, the failing grade in a course will be counted for theOGPA till it is repeated after which only repeat grade will be counted.Class division29. No Division shall be awarded at Ph.D. level. In case of Master's degree, however, equivalentdivision that is 'First' or 'First Division with Distinction' or 'Second' shall be written inBrackets both in the transcript as well as in the degree certificate.Addition or Withdrawal of Courses30. (a) Subsequent to his registration a student may add or withdraw any course, in the mannerprescribed below.1. Application for addition or withdrawal shall be made in the prescribed 'Change ofCourse(s) Form' obtainable from the office of the Dean concerned.2. The advisor of the student and the instructor of the course shall give theirrecommendations with reasons on the form itself.3. After completing (ii) above the student shall go to the Dean, College of <strong>Post</strong>-<strong>Graduate</strong> Studies and obtain his approval for the change.4. In the event of permission for the change being granted by the Dean, College of<strong>Post</strong>-<strong>Graduate</strong> Studies the student shall deposit the prescribed fee of Rs.10.00 inthe office of the Comptroller and obtain a receipt thereof.5. After the fees as (iv) above have been deposited, the student shall deposit one copyof the 'Change of Course(s) Form' with his Advisor and the remaining two copiesin the office of the Registrar. The Registrar shall inform the Instructors concernedabout the addition or withdrawal of the course(s) by the student and shall alsoforward a copy of the completed 'Change of Course(s) Form' to the Dean concerned.6. Until all the procedures mentioned above are completed, the change shall not become141
