SOSFTP Documentation 27 4.5 Polling for files (receive only) The previous use cases for file transfer require that the files that should be transferred do exist in the source directory before the SOSFTP Client starts. The polling-feature allows that the files appear in the source directory after the SOSFTP client is started. Configured with the parameter ”poll_timeout“ the client will not terminate until the specified timeout is reached or a file is found in the source directory during a file check which is performed in the interval specified by the parameter “poll_interval”. Example Command: sosftp.cmd -settings=ftp_settings.ini -profile=polling_receive -operation=receive The profile of the configuration file ftp_settings.ini: … [polling_receive] protocol = ftp host = 8of9 user = sos password = sos file_spec = .* remote_dir = /outbound/ local_dir = inbound/ poll_timeout = 30 poll_interval = 60 … For 30 minutes every 60 seconds the SOSFTP Client will check if there are any files (.*) in the remote directory. As soon as at least one file is found during this check all files in the remote directory are downloaded into the local directory and the client terminates with a success message. After 30 minutes if no files are found in the remote directory the client terminates with the error “no matching files”. The additional parameter “poll_minfiles” allows a regulation of the file transfer by a threshold N in respect to the number of files in the remote directory.
