SOSFTP Documentation 4
SOSFTP can automatically detect errors and will then alert the Application Manager by sending an alert
email.
2 Installation
2.1 Overview
The SOSFTP Software contains the following packages:
 SOSFTP Client
A Java based FTP/SFTP-Client for Unix and Windows for managed file transfer supporting secured file
transfer between different TCP/IP networks. The SOSFTP Client supports the protocols FTP, FTPS 2
(FTP over SSL) and SFTP. This package can be used as a standalone application, it is not dependent
on the other packages.
 SOSFTP Server
Add-on for the Job Scheduler. The SOSFTP Server collects the information of file transfers processed
by any number of SOSFTP Clients. The SOSFTP Server manages the information in a database (Transfer
History Database).
 Web GUI
This package supports a quick survey of managed file transfers stored in the Transfer History Database.
The GUI is running as web application in a web browser. This package requires the SOSFTP Server.
 SOSFTP Reporting
This package supports the automatic generation of reports. The reports contain the summary of information
about managed file transfers. The reports can be automatically send by email. This package requires
the SOSFTP Server.
2 Only implicit FTPS (using a dedicated FTPS port) is supported. Explicit FTPS (Server uses the same port for
FTP and FTPS) is not supported.
