Achieved outcomes of your projects or activities:The project succeeded in achieving its objectives of constructing a toilet facility which can meetthe needs of both young and old, and also conducting sensitization meetings on sanitation. A 10chamber toilet facility- 5 chambers each for males and females, with seats for the elderly and thedisabled has been completed through partnership between JWF, PEYORG and the communitymembers. The facility is expected to serve some 700 people living in the community. The projectalso educated over 300 inhabitants of the community on the need to adopt more sustainablewaste disposal practices, to help improve sanitation in the community. Through this project too, acommittee which would seek to bring many more development projects into the community hasbeen set up. PEYORG hopes to continue to work with the committee to secure additional fundingfrom the JWF and other sources toward the construction of another toilet facility in the easternpart of the village, to serve the local school of about 250 children, and some surroundinghouseholds which may find it cumbersome to walk all the way to the western part of thecommunity where the new toilet is located.Fig 8: A view of the project site showing the 20feet manhole for the toilet.14.
