Mr. Barber has served as Chief ExecutiveOfficer of Xyratex Ltd and its predecessor companies since February 2003, having previously served asPresident from March 2002 and as Executive Vice President and Director of Business Developmentfrom October 2000. Prior to assuming these positions, Mr. Barber led the development of our warrantyand repair business from a small U.K. based company to a global business with operations in Europe,the United States and Southeast Asia. Our warranty and repair business was sold to Teleplan inJune 1999. Mr. Barber acted as a division president of Teleplan from June 1999 before leaving Teleplanand re-joining our business in October 2000. Mr. Barber was a member of the executive team that ledour 1994 management buy-out from IBM and, prior to that, held a number of management positionswith IBM. Mr. Barber holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electronic engineering from the Universityof Natal, Durban, South Africa. Mr. Barber also serves as a director on the boards of directors ofseveral of our subsidiaries.Richard Pearce is our Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Pearce has served as Chief Financial Officer ofXyratex Ltd and its predecessor companies since September 2003 and previously served as Treasurerand as Group Tax Manager following our management buy-out from IBM in 1994. Mr. Pearce hasplayed a significant role in material acquisition, divestiture and financing activities. Prior to joiningXyratex Ltd, Mr. Pearce held a number of financial positions within IBM over a period of six years.Mr. Pearce is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.Steve Thompson is our Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Thompson has served as Chief TechnologyOfficer of Xyratex Ltd and its predecessor companies since December 1999. Mr. Thompson has heldseveral senior management positions within our company and was responsible for the initial businessdevelopment of our Storage and Network Systems and Storage Infrastructure product lines.Mr. Thompson formerly worked for IBM, where he gained extensive experience in engineering andoperational management in the United Kingdom and Japan, and, prior to that, for GECTelecommunications. Mr. Thompson has a degree from Swansea University in computer technology.Adam Wray is our Executive Vice President of Storage Infrastructure. Mr. Wray has served asExecutive Vice President of our Storage Infrastructure business since December 2001. Prior to thistime, Mr. Wray served in several business management and engineering positions within our StorageInfrastructure business. In his 18 years of experience in the disk drive industry, Mr. Wray has held avariety of engineering and management appointments both at our company and at IBM. Over this timeperiod, he has also spent two years in the IBM advanced manufacturing group in Japan, and one and ahalf years in Irvine, California in key customer account management and engineering managementroles. Mr. Wray holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Special Engineering Programme,Brunel University, London.62
