Participation <strong>of</strong> Designated body in con<strong>for</strong>mity assessmentDesignated body on the basis <strong>of</strong> that request, submitted be<strong>for</strong>e placing equipment on the market,and enclosed documentation, which is:- declaration <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity,- appropriate technical documentation (usually but not necessarily, the test report, test summaryreport), reviews the technical documentation and if the con<strong>for</strong>mity <strong>of</strong> the equipment is confirmed,issues the Confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity.Confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity is a document accompanying the product during import andlater during placing on the market <strong>of</strong> the Republic <strong>of</strong> Serbia, which serves as a pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mityand which supplier <strong>of</strong> the product is obliged to present to the customs <strong>of</strong>ficial and/or to the relevantauthority at request. The Designated body keeps a record <strong>of</strong> issued confirmations and upon request <strong>of</strong>manufacturer or his representative and/or importer issues the Excerpt from records. The Designatedbody publishes the records on issued confirmations on its <strong>of</strong>ficial webpage.The obligation to obtain confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity is valid <strong>for</strong> both importers and domesticmanufacturers <strong>of</strong> equipment. As an exception, this obligation does not refer to the manufacturers <strong>of</strong> theequipment made in the Republic <strong>of</strong> Serbia and <strong>for</strong> which con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment has been carried outby the Designated body in accordance with Annex 3 <strong>of</strong> the Rulebook, that is, appropriate testing (asaccredited body) and provided test report which is the integral part <strong>of</strong> technical documentation <strong>of</strong> themanufactured equipment in question.On the basis <strong>of</strong> the confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity or excerpt from the record issued by the designatedbody, the manufacturer or his authorised representative affixes the Serbian con<strong>for</strong>mity mark on theequipment.16
Confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity contains, in particular:- in<strong>for</strong>mation on business name, and/or name <strong>of</strong> the manufacturer,- title <strong>of</strong> the Rulebook and number <strong>of</strong> the Official Gazette <strong>of</strong> the Republic <strong>of</strong> Serbia,- type and kind <strong>of</strong> equipment having con<strong>for</strong>mity confirmed.Confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity can consist <strong>of</strong> other in<strong>for</strong>mation, such as in<strong>for</strong>mation on the applicantrequesting issuance <strong>of</strong> this confirmation, etc.If a particular equipment is subject <strong>of</strong> other technical regulations, that prescribe mandatorycompliance <strong>of</strong> that apparatus, prior to its placing on the market, and with the requirements from theseregulations, it is necessary that confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity includes con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment <strong>of</strong> apparatuswith all technical regulations relating to that apparatus, and if it is not a case, it is recommended thatconfirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity, besides requested con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment with requirements from the Rulebook,contains a note other technical regulations the con<strong>for</strong>mity assessment <strong>of</strong> apparatus in subject will be carriedout.Issued confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity is valid <strong>for</strong> the same type and/or type <strong>of</strong> product from the samemanufacturer <strong>for</strong> three years from the date <strong>of</strong> issuance; and issued excerpt from the records has the sameperiod <strong>of</strong> validity as issued confirmation <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity in question.7. MARKING OF CONFORMITY AND ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION7.1. MarkingMarking and con<strong>for</strong>mity mark <strong>of</strong> equipment are prescribed in Article 11 and Annex 5 <strong>of</strong> theRulebook.The equipment that is in compliance with requirements from the Rulebook is marked bycon<strong>for</strong>mity mark.Picture 8. Serbian mark <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mityThe manufacturer, or his authorised representative, or importer (if the manufacturer or hisrepresentative is not registered in the Republic <strong>of</strong> Serbia) shall affix the con<strong>for</strong>mity mark, so as to bevisible, legible and indelible, in accordance with the regulation governing the manner <strong>of</strong> affixing anduse <strong>of</strong> con<strong>for</strong>mity marks.Serbian mark is the only label certifying that the product being placed on the market and/or putinto use in the Republic <strong>of</strong> Serbia, is in compliance with the requirements <strong>of</strong> Serbian technicalregulation, if such regulation provides its affixing.17
