Flowchart 3 – Provisions <strong>of</strong> the Rulebook applicable to apparatusFinished appliancesFinished appliance is any appliance that is delivered as a single functional unit (it is packed in its„case“) on the market and it is intered <strong>for</strong> end user.When that appliance is intended exclusively <strong>for</strong> an industrial assembly operation or incorporation intoother apparatus, such an appliance shall not be considered as an apparatus in terms <strong>of</strong> this Rulebook.Combination <strong>of</strong> finished appliances (systems)Combination <strong>of</strong> finished appliances (systems) is combination <strong>of</strong> more finished appliances that are as asingle functional unit placed on the market. Such a system, in order to be considered apparatus in terms <strong>of</strong>the Rulebook, must be combined, and/or designed and/or put together by the same person („manufacturer”).Components or sub-assemblies Rulebook applies toComponents or sub-assemblies on the market intended <strong>for</strong> incorporation into an apparatus by the enduser and which are available to the end user are considered as apparatus in respect to the application <strong>of</strong>this Rulebook.Typical examples <strong>for</strong> named components or sub-assemblies are:- „Plug-in” cards <strong>for</strong> computer;- Programmable logic controllers;- Electric motors (except <strong>for</strong> induction motors);- Power supply units, where they take the <strong>for</strong>m <strong>of</strong> autonomous equipment or which are soldseparately, <strong>for</strong> installation by the end user;- Computer disk drives;- Electronic temperature controls, etc.In this case attention should be paid pay to the instruction manual. It should be assumed thatadjustments or incorporation can be made by the end users who are not aware <strong>of</strong> the consequences <strong>of</strong>electromagnetic compatibility.9
