This exhibitionprovided <strong>ST</strong>EE-InfoSec new businessopportunities as it had been active in theJapan market for the last two years.<strong>ST</strong>EE-InfoSec showcased DigiSAFE’s brandof data-at-rest security products. <strong>The</strong>introduction of its hardware-based diskencryption devices in Japan had createdmuch interest with the increasing importanceof having stored data encryptedto prevent it from falling into the wrong hands through loss or theft ofportable computing devices such as laptops.EMC 2007Beijing, 5-7 June 2007<strong>ST</strong> <strong>Electronics</strong> (Info-CommSystems) [<strong>ST</strong>EE-InfoComm]showcased various EMC(Electromagnetic Compatibility)products and solutions at the12th International Exhibition onElectromagnetic Compatibilityin Beijing from 5 to 7 June2007. EMC 2007 is the largestEMC exhibition in China. ThisDigital watermarking solution also showed its popularity for considerationin implementing contents security. We had received many enquirieson utilising this technology in the authenticity of digital images.IX 2007 ConferenceSingapore, 20-21 June 2007Mr Seah Moon Ming, President of<strong>ST</strong> <strong>Electronics</strong>, was certainly animatedwhen he shared with the conferenceattendees <strong>ST</strong> <strong>Electronics</strong>’ journey into thebusiness of Digital Media and Animation.Mr Seah was invited by the SingaporeInfoComm Technology Federation tospeak at the IX 2007 Conference DigitalMedia Track from 20 to 21 June. <strong>The</strong>conference was keen to know how an IT player and systems integratordeveloped a new business focus in Digital Media and Animation.In his presentation, Mr Seah highlighted <strong>ST</strong> <strong>Electronics</strong>’ strength inexploiting “dual-use” electronics technologies and ICT and how it hassuccessfully developed solutions that can be applied to both defence andcommercial applications, with more than half of its business today in thecommercial sector.Mr Seah spoke about the path that <strong>ST</strong> <strong>Electronics</strong> took from developingsimulation technology into digital animation. He pointed out that simulationsolutions and graphics employed 3D Computer Graphics, ArtificialIntelligence (or AI) and Real-Time Processing and that the key areas inthe Digital Media domain are also built upon these same underlyingcompetencies.
