Page-27/3114.5 Traffic BarriersBarriers, designed against a 2300kg vehicle travelling at 80km/h to standard ASTM F 2656 (Conditiondesignation PU50) or equivalent ,shall be in place so that vehicles do not have access into the transportfacility from the road. (E.g. Staircases, Planter Boxes, Stone Benches, Bollards). Clear spacing betweenthe barriers shall no exceed 1.2m.All parking, loading and unloading areas around facility shall include removable locked barriers at theentrance from the road designed against a 2300kg vehicle travelling at 80km/h to standard ASTM F2656 (Condition designation PU50) or equivalent.Clear spacing between the barriers shall no exceed 1.2m.14.6 LayoutThe transport facility layout shall be such as to:- Provide a bypass facility to security barriers across pedestrian flow routes, including as part of anyaccess management system at-least at one location, preferably adjacent to the maintenance parkingspace.- Minimise the number of rooms opening into areas that are designated 24 hour access.- Keep operational and fares equipment such as ticket machines within the secure operational area ofthe facility.Rooms with different security requirements shall be arranged so that each room has its own accessfrom a common area. Only in the case where adjoining rooms have the exact same securityrequirements can one room be accessible via the adjoining room, in which case the dividing door shallallow free passage.All room security requirements shall be confirmed with the Authority while developing the layout.May 2013Section 2 of Architectural Design Criteria – Revision A2
