Hooded Strain ReliefsHooded strain reliefs are used whenever a connectoris used on a cable assembly which will be exposedto users and subject to multiple disconnects. Hoodsare designed to protect users from shock hazard byexposed solder joints, as well as provide a strain relieffor the wires and protection against accidental shortcircuits.Since most filter connectors are larger thanstandard connectors, there had been a problem fittingmost commercially available hoods. Spectrum Controlsolves this problem. Our hoods are molded of thin wallplastic, providing extra internal space to accommodatelarger filter connectors. The hood is constructed ofextremely durable polycarbonate and meets theflammability requirements for UL94V-0.In addition, hoods are ideal for use on applicationswhich require the use of extra components such asresistors or varistors on the wires. The nonconductivehood conveniently houses the connector, components,and protects any joints.■ 2560-9000-XX is supplied with metal retentionclips to hold the connector within the hoodassembly. This item is recommended for usewith Spectrum Filtered D-subs, most other filteredD-subs, and most standard D-subs.■ 2560-9001-XX is meant to be used with aconnector which has a special eyelet on themounting flange. This feature is available as anoption on the Spectrum Filtered D-sub.
