MEETING OF MIDWESTERN COUNCIL BOARDS – Continued
Rule-a-Thon – AX
• Previously passed rule to move all pressurized vehicles up one class was rescinded. Language will be added to
tech sheets for competitors to affirm that performance modifications were declared.
• Motion to add in section 6.3: All/any AWD/4WD std./opt – SPA –2 did not pass. Jackson noted that the classification
committee should properly classify cars individually and not penalize them across the board.
• Several cars were proposed for classification but need input from the AX Classification Committee.
Rule-a-Thon – W/W
• Driver Info Card: Did not pass as a requirement or strong recommendation. The MC has a procedure in place.
When it didn’t work, it was because non-MC rescue personnel did not utilize it.
• Coolant: J.Boldt’s proposal that a 20% concentration of antifreeze in a car’s cooling system be allowed passed.
The concentration can be checked in Tech. With early and late season events it could avoid engine damage while
not being a great enough concentration to complicate clean-up.
• GT Lite: D.Wessel’s proposal that SCCA GT Lite cars be allowed to run in GT4 with GTL specs passed. This follows
SCCA changes.
• Fiesta: R. Woelfle’s proposal that the 77-80 Fiesta be reclassified from GP to HP passed. This follows the SCCA
change.
• Motorcycle Engines in FA: J. Bartelt and Formula Committee’s proposal to add rules clarifying their use was tabled
for club input.
• DOT tires for SpecRenault: T. McCarter’s proposal that any DOT tire meeting original Yoko (no longer available) or
Goodyear sizes may be used passed. Drivers are asked to try to come up with alternatives that work.
• SRen Carbs: McCarter’s proposal to allow alternative commercially available 2-bbl progressive carb with the same
throttle bore size as the originals (which are no longer available) passed.
• GT2 Spoilers & Wings: McCarter’s proposal that GT2 rules be updated to include SCCA spoiler & wing rules
passed. M(Hoover) & 2(Kannard) to also adopt those rules for GT3 and GTLite. Pass.
• Roll Cages: McCarter’s proposal to bring roll cage material in line with industry specs, eliminating ERW in Appendix
Z, 2.1 and similarly in App. ZZ, as of 2011 is approved under “Errors and Omissions”.
• GTSC: D. Karth’s proposal to create GTSC (GT-stock car) passed.
• AGS Heads: P. Meier’s proposal to add the Edelbrock head for AGS GM & Ford cars passed. This matches SCCA
rules for AS. It is noted that there is a weight penalty with some heads.
NEW BUSINESS
- IT Rule Revision: ECU rules tabled for input.
