We learn fromother sources that George Couke was a private in the2nd Lincoln Militia.Andrew Hansel, born 1747, died i6th May, 1818,aged 70 ; <strong>and</strong> John Hansel, May 29th, 1813.George Hoover died 15th February, 1827, aged90.In an iron fence enclosure with a large Aberdeengranite monument :"In memory of Jonathan Hagar, died Octoberloth, 1813, his wife Azubah, died 1847, aged 78."Also Mahitable, daughter of Jonathan <strong>and</strong> AzubahHagar.Mary Seburn <strong>and</strong> Stephen Seburn died in 1828<strong>and</strong> 1830 respectively. The name Swayze, occurring inthe first Parliament, also the name given to a deliciousapple in this peninsula, is here found :"In memory of Hannebel, son of Malum <strong>and</strong>Mehitabel Swayze.""Mary Swayze, wife of Hiram Swayze, died 1818,aged 32."Is this an ancestor of one of our missionaries inChina ?"In memory of Thomas Goforth, died 1844, aged88."It is remarkable how few here give the place ofbirth, but that below shows pride of country thoughdestitute, or almost so, of capital l<strong>et</strong>ters :"Sacred to the memory of Wallace Bell, who departedthis life August 31st, 1828, aged 35, he was anative of colcleugh, northumberl<strong>and</strong>, old engl<strong>and</strong>.Here Wallace Bell lies in the dustWhen his time comes to die he must."The rest is indecipherable.
