• Rebooked (a Request Appointment Confirmation PRSC_IN040000UKnn is sentto the Service Provider) from the worklist.6.10.2 CABAL Rejected Cancellations worklistUBRNs are placed on this worklist when the Request Appointment Cancellation part of arebook fails:• Choose and Book has tried to rebook an appointment and a timeout or other errorhas occurred during the cancellation of the original appointment. From this worklist, the appointment may be:• Removed from the worklist (a Request Appointment CancellationPRSC_IN070000UKnn is not sent to the Service Provider System).6.10.3 Service Provider Database CorrectionMany of the appointment synchronisation errors that occur do so because messageinteractions between Choose and Book and service provider systems do no complete in atimely manner, leaving one system or the other with an incomplete or incorrect version of theappointment booking. This can generate a large manual workload to investigate and correct. The imperative is for all systems involved in electronic booking to respond to messages asquickly as possible and for suppliers to streamline their designs for optimum performance.Where appointment synchronisation errors do occur, the service provider system mustprovide mechanisms to allow a suitable authorised “super user” to correct the data. Theminimum functionality required is to:• Cancel an appointment without sending a Notify Appointment Cancellation. This is particularly relevant because this message does not contain the USRNso where the databases have got out of sync it can be impossible for Chooseand Book to know which appointment the Service Provider System is cancelling;• Associate a UBRN with an existing booking.V6-S35V6-S36The Service Provider system must make every effort to respond to messagesin a timely manner and must state in their design documents how they intent toachieve this. For each interaction type received by their MHS, their designdocuments must state their expected processing time from inbound receipt tooutbound response. Situations that could put these expected timings at risk mustbe documented.Service Provider systems must provide facilities to allow users to manage theinterface with Choose and Book, for example to alert users when the interface isnot processing messages.V6-S37The Service Provider system must provide mechanisms to allow the systemadministrator or other appropriate person to investigate and correct situationswhere the Choose and Book database has become out of sync with the ServiceProvider database, including but not limited to cancelling an appointmentwithout sending a Notify Appointment Cancellation, and associating a UBRN to aChoose and BookAtos Origin - Commercial In ConfidenceChoose and Book ComplianceVersion: 8 (final)Reference EBS-AN\BA\BA011 9 May 2007Page 78
