Welcome to the Warsteiner Brewery.
Only those who break through the normal constraints, who are open to new things and who try to make
the impossible possible succeed in turning a regional beer into an internationally renowned pilsener. In
1753 the agriculturist Antonius Cramer had the vision of brewing a beer of exceptional clarity and spicy
elegance – with success. It sold so well that his son, Johannes Vitus, established his own brewery in
Sauerland (North Rhine Westphalia) from which he conquered the world.
Nine generations of the Cramer family have accompanied the Warsteiner brand on its journey. Today
our family-owned company is one of the largest, best known, most modern and successful breweries in
Europe and the Warsteiner Group, with more than 120 subsidiaries and shareholdings, is an internationally
operating company.
