(The final digit in'course numbers indicates the unit weight of a course.' A 6-unit. course is taught from September to April and a 3-unit course isa half;.year course which may be taught either from Septemberto December, or January to April). Admission to a Level II programnormally requires completion of ,six units of the relevantsubject. In, order to' be considered foraqmission to a Level /I'. program, students should consult the admission statementsfor the Level. II. wograms when selecting their Level I courses.2 •. The Faculty offers INQUIRY 1 HU3, Inquiry in the Humanities,.. Humanities I students may choose this course as an elective:Fora course description see Inquiry or Humanities in the,Cour$e Listings section of this Calendar. '3. Humanities J students are permitted to take up to 12 units ofwork in any single subject '.' . .'. , - .4~Students with 'an OAC (orGrade 12 U course) in Greek orLatin will register for six units of Level" Gr,eek .or Latin in lieuof the corresponding 1Z03 and 1ZZ3courses.'5. Humanities I students are restricted to' takingnb more than'12 units of introductory language courses. .. ,6.AR'T 1 F03, 1 FF3: Entrance to, any HolioursArt Program requiresthe permission of the School of the Arts as these programs andcourses have limited enrolments. Students who wish to. enrolin ART 1 F03 ·and 1 FF3 mustfirst complete a portfOlio interview..Portfolio' interviews occur~etween January and April each yearfor entrance in September ofthe same calendar year. Only thosestudents who contact the Office of the School of the Arts before .,'March 1 to book appointments for portfolio interviews will be'gua~anteedconsiderationfor entrance tntoART 1 F03 and 1 FF3.'(Late applicants will only be interviewed if space. availabilitypermits~) The portfolio should contain a variety of works in differentmedia that represent the applicant's creative abilities. and interests. Aptitude in art,academic ability and demonstrated,commitment to the discipline are ,considered in the selectionprOcess. In exceptional circumstances, where distance dgesnot allow for an interview, portfolios may be submitted in theform of colour slides or photographs. Acceptance into'ART 1 F03and, 1 FF3' will be verified with' written confirmation from theSchool of. the Arts.
