The DrifterAutocrossBy Matt DeterAutocross ChairAs I’m sure everyone who had planned toattend May’s autocross event knows, it rainedinstead—a lot <strong>of</strong> rain. So that was that. Junewas a nice month for an autocross, but the sitewas not available. Skipping over the hot andbusy months <strong>of</strong> July and August, we come toSeptember, in which I am happy to say wewill have a double-header event on September10 and 11. Mark your calendars now. Thisevent promises to be a good one!If you have not participated in an autocrossevent before, don’t miss out. If youhaven’t slid your <strong>Porsche</strong> around a corner orfigured out exactly when the ABS activates,you should definitely come out to drive.The events are safe and run on a wide-openparking lot at the fairgrounds in Stockton.The course provides plenty <strong>of</strong> space andopportunity to drive without fear <strong>of</strong> hittinganything. For first timers, the <strong>Club</strong> has experiencedinstructors who have volunteeredto teach you how to negotiate the course successfully.It only takes a few runs to see yourtimes start dropping.
