CollegiansOCCommunicator<strong>Ormiston</strong> Old Collegians AssociationGift to the Somerset Sports Centre1995 was the first year that <strong>Ormiston</strong> having an inaugural 1st XV Captain's<strong>College</strong> had a 1st XV Rugby Team. The jersey in their possession.team played with much enthusiasm andThe jersey was presented to Paulspirit and was proud of their all whiteHornibrook, Dean of Students who wasjersey. They won 6 of their 7 games andthe Coach of the inaugural 1st XV. Theset a standard that is now part of ourjersey now hangs in the foyer of therugby tradition. The inaugural 1st XVSomerset Sports Centre. We thank RyanCaptain was Ryan McCann and a decadefor his generosity.later, Ryan generously donated his framedjersey back to the school. This gesture Ryan McCann (Class of '95) is living in thewill no doubt grow in significance inRedlands, running the family business,future years as very few schools can boast Cleveland Real Estate.Su-Yin Chan (Class of 2004 - and <strong>College</strong>Dux) has completed her first year of aBachelor of Pharmacy at the University ofQueensland. Su-Yin has decided to deferher studies for a year in order to work andgain experience in her various fields ofinterest. She plans to travel to America toact as a Camp Counsellor in a SummerCamp Program.Still holding a great love of the violin, Su-Yin has commenced private teaching ofthe instrument, which she is thoroughlyenjoying. She is also a violinist in aprofessional quartet, the Satin StringsQuartet, formed in 2005 and made up ofpast members of <strong>Ormiston</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Thegroup has played at many weddings overpast months.Su-Yin ended her email, “I am very muchlooking forward to my year of selfdiscovery”and added the quote fromEleanor Roosevelt, ‘The future belongs tothose who believe in the beauty of theirdreams’.POPS Annual Christmas in July Trivia NightYes, it's on again!
