Sir Ian Hamilton.In the late summer <strong>of</strong> the same year the regiment was<strong>ca</strong>lled out in aid <strong>of</strong> the civil power in connection with astrike in the Nanaimo district, and a detachment <strong>of</strong> the <strong>72nd</strong>was on continuous duty there until <strong>ca</strong>lled back on mobilization for active service in August, 1914.At the end <strong>of</strong> May, 1913, the <strong>Seaforth</strong>s joined other regiments at the training <strong>ca</strong>mp at Vernon, B. C. This was saidto be the largest military <strong>ca</strong>mp held in the province up tothat time, there being about 1500 men present, including<strong>ca</strong>valry. Colonel Roy, D. 0. S., was the inspecting <strong>of</strong>ficer,and some very good work was done.11
