Sir Ian Hamilton.In the late summer of the same year the regiment wascalled out in aid of the civil power in connection with astrike in the Nanaimo district, and a detachment of the 72ndwas on continuous duty there until called back on mobilization for active service in August, 1914.At the end of May, 1913, the Seaforths joined other regiments at the training camp at Vernon, B. C. This was saidto be the largest military camp held in the province up tothat time, there being about 1500 men present, includingcavalry. Colonel Roy, D. 0. S., was the inspecting officer,and some very good work was done.11
