Reflections on 2008 IACMR BiennualConference2008 IACMR 年 会 议 —— 与 会 者 的 声 音Essay 1. Reflection on PDW—Teaching ResearchMethodsSchool of Management, the National University of SingaporeHow to quickly improve research competencies ofmanagement graduate students? What method course shouldbe offered to systematically develop students to engage inempirical research? These are concerns of managementscholars that can not be easily addressed. The IACMR timelyprovided a faculty development workshop on how to teachresearch method in the last day of the biennial conference.The workshop was chaired by Professor Xiao-Ping Chen.Many experienced scholars, including Jia Lin Xie, ChristopherHsee, Kwok Liang, Yan Zhang, Jia-Der Luo, Minping Huang,and Anne Tsui, gave presentations on a variety of researchmethod topics. They were also authors of the newly publishedbook . The book was first of its kind in China that can beused as a textbook and gives hand-on guidance for conductingempirical research. After presentations, participants weredivided into groups to discuss some important topics. Theworkshop has provided a great platform for scholars to sharetheir experience on how to teach research methods.短 文 1. 职 业 发 展 论 坛 — 研 究 方 法 的 教 学宋 照 理 新 加 坡 国 立 大 学 商 学 院如 何 才 能 迅 速 提 高 管 理 学 研 究 生 和 博 士 生 的 科 研 水平 ? 什 么 样 的 方 法 课 程 才 能 系 统 地 培 养 学 生 进 行 实 证 研究 的 能 力 ? 这 些 都 是 现 在 很 多 管 理 学 老 师 感 到 头 痛 的 问题 。 管 理 协 会 年 会 针 对 这 些 问 题 , 由 一 批 有 丰 富 研 究 与教 学 经 验 的 学 者 领 衔 , 为 大 家 开 辟 了 研 究 方 法 教 学 的 论坛 。论 坛 由 陈 晓 萍 教 授 主 持 , 由 谢 家 琳 、 奚 凯 元 、 梁觉 、 张 燕 、 罗 家 德 、 黄 敏 萍 , 徐 淑 英 等 多 位 资 深 学 者 分别 介 绍 了 方 法 课 的 一 些 重 要 专 题 。 这 些 学 者 也 是 学 会 最新 出 版 的 《 组 织 与 管 理 的 实 证 研 究 方 法 》 的 作 者 , 该 书是 中 国 第 一 本 可 以 作 为 教 科 书 , 并 能 为 实 证 研 究 提 供 指导 的 方 法 类 书 籍 。 在 精 彩 的 报 告 之 后 , 大 家 分 组 讨 论 与研 究 方 法 教 学 有 关 的 一 些 重 要 课 题 。 各 组 参 与 者 热 烈 地交 流 了 各 自 教 学 中 的 困 惑 、 经 验 和 体 会 。 论 坛 在 各 组 代表 分 享 讨 论 内 容 之 后 圆 满 结 束 。Essay 2. Session 1: Recruitment and EmployabilityLihua Shi and Pengyan HuangSchool of Business Administration, South China University ofTechnologyOn June 19 th , the session in Hisbiscus hall was about“recruitment and employability”. Dr. Xiaohua Yang(Queensland University of Technology) chaired the session.She first invited three speakers to present their researchfor twenty minutes each. The first presenter was ProfessorAlan Fish, from Charles Sturt University. His topic was“Employer’s and Students’ perceptions of Job fit in China”and his main finding was that there were indeed some veryinteresting differences as to the perceptions of the studentsand employers on both skill inventories and also as to personalattributes. The second presenter was Yiqiong Li, a PhDcandidate of University of New South Wales. She reportedher research on the problem of employers’ experiences ofshortage of skilled workers in Suzhou Industrial Park. The短 文 2. 专 题 讨 论 1: 招 聘 和 雇 佣 能 力史 丽 华 、 黄 鹏 燕 华 南 理 工 大 学 工 商 管 理 学 院6 月 19 日 上 午 , 在 花 园 酒 店 芙 蓉 厅 举 行 了 主 题 为 “ 招聘 和 雇 佣 能 力 ” 的 分 会 , 该 分 会 由 昆 士 兰 科 技 大 学 杨小 华 博 士 主 持 。 她 首 先 邀 请 三 位 主 讲 者 分 别 用 20 分 钟 介绍 了 各 自 的 研 究 发 现 。 首 先 是 来 自 查 尔 斯 特 大 学 的 AlanFish。 他 的 主 题 是 中 国 雇 主 和 学 生 对 工 作 契 合 度 的 认 知 ,他 发 现 雇 主 和 学 生 对 于 所 需 的 就 业 技 能 以 及 个 人 特 质 的认 知 方 面 确 实 存 在 一 定 差 异 。 第 二 位 是 新 南 威 尔 士 大 学的 博 士 研 究 生 李 义 琼 , 她 提 出 了 对 苏 州 工 业 区 技 术 工 人缺 乏 问 题 的 调 查 和 思 考 , 最 后 北 京 大 学 的 孔 繁 明 教 授 阐述 了 他 们 基 于 北 京 市 劳 动 市 场 调 研 所 发 现 的 招 聘 歧 视 问题 。三 位 主 讲 者 报 告 完 毕 , 主 持 人 杨 小 华 博 士 邀 请 华12
