He appreciated the achievements of ITBP judokasas ITBP judokas have won gold medals in this international event where topplayers of 21 countries were competing to clinch the Gold medal. He gavehis best wishes.Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Judokas have won two goldmedals for India in 2010 Commonwealth Judo Championship heldat Singapore from 8-12 January 2010. Teams from 21 countries viz.England , Australia , New Zealand, South Africa etc participated in theCommonwealth Judo Championship held at Singapore. The championshipis organsied every two years. ASI Virender Singh of ITBP defeated SouthAfrica in the 81 kg weight category in the fi nal and England in the semifi nals.Ct (Ms) Th. Kalpana of ITBP defeated Australia in the fi nal and Scotland inShri Gopal K. Pillai, Home Secretary with D.G, ITBP & Shri Virendra Singh (ASI) &Ms Kalpana Devi of ITBPShri P. Chidambaram, HM, giving cash reward to gold medal winnersShri Virender Singh & Ms Kalpana Devi of ITBPthe semifi nals in 52 Kg weightcategory.ASI Virender Singhhas earlier won BronzeMedal in Commonwealth JudoChampionship in 2008 atMauritius and Bronze Medalin Junior Asian Championship2005 at Macau and has beenNational champion. He joinedITBP in year 2003 for fi ve times.CT. Kalpana Devi of ITBP wonthe Gold Medal in Junior AsianChampionship 2008 at Yemenand two Gold Medals in SeniorNational Championship andhas been champion for fi vetimes in Junior National.
