<strong>ITBP</strong> <strong>Challenger</strong> <strong>Cup</strong> <strong>2009</strong>DG, <strong>ITBP</strong> presenting the <strong>ITBP</strong> <strong>Challenger</strong> <strong>Cup</strong>-<strong>2009</strong> to Sameer Khan (jockey) the winner of <strong>ITBP</strong> <strong>Challenger</strong> <strong>Cup</strong> <strong>2009</strong>Horse race for <strong>ITBP</strong> <strong>Challenger</strong> <strong>Cup</strong>-<strong>2009</strong>was conducted at Delhi Race Course on 30 th October<strong>2009</strong>. Shri Vikram Srivastava, DG, was the chief gueston the occasion and presented the "<strong>ITBP</strong> <strong>Challenger</strong><strong>Cup</strong>" Silver Trophy to Sameer Khan (Jockey) winnerof the horse race. Name of the winner race horse is'Shaurya'.On the occasion Shri Vikram Srivastava saidthat the <strong>ITBP</strong> Equestrian Team is one of the mainparticipant in the National Equestrian Competitions heldin the country and the Force is having good number ofRiding Horses. During last three years Equestrian Teamof <strong>ITBP</strong> won 7 Gold, 4 Silver & 8 Bronze medals invarious national level competitions and <strong>ITBP</strong> riders alsorepresented India in International competition. This cupis dedicated to all AT personnel who always work withthe animals and serve the troops at <strong>Border</strong> Out Postsin the adverse climatic condition and in diffi cult terrainthrough out the year.<strong>ITBP</strong> is probably the only Force in the worldand defi nitely the fi rst amongst Indian Forces toinduct Yaks as a Logistic support element for bordermanagement. Yaks have been deployed by the Forcein Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim at long and arduousinternational border. In <strong>ITBP</strong> Animal Transpost wingis the only means of transport in the high altitudemountainous terrain where the connectivity is mostlyrestricted to mule tracks only.
