Corporate Management DivisionHUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENTThe objective of HR department is to promote a workingenvironment which fosters employee satisfaction anddevelopment in areas of recruitment, benefits andcompensation, staff development and anticipatingemerging needs of the Universities. LSE has adopted anopen door policy. We allow the employees to mingle anddiscuss their matters with the CEO, senior managementand HR. It contributes to improving work relationshipsand enhancing internal relationships. To deliver valueand manage our stakeholders' expectations, we relyheavily on our greatest asset which is our employees. Wewant to be a preferred employer that can attract andretain the best talents for the sustainable growth of our<strong>Exchange</strong>. To us, being a caring and responsible employeris not an option but an obligation we have to ouremployees. On that score, we shall continue to invest inour employees, supporting their personal andprofessional development, inculcating a work lifebalance, and ensuring employees' health and safety. As alearning organization, we offer opportunities foremployees to be challenged, to make a difference, togrow, to make significant contributions, to innovate andultimately to succeed. In the workplace, establishingstrong succession planning and increasing the number ofpositively engaged employees ranked high in oursustainability agenda.LSE provided training programs both through in housearrangements and external training providers. Our effortstowards building a talent pool saw the recruitment oflocal university graduates for our in-house 12-monthsmanagement training program. Furthermore, twoforeign internees also completed 3 months' trainingprograms at LSE.LSE also arranged excursions for the staff of the <strong>Exchange</strong>to provide an open atmosphere to defuse the stresselements at work. In this regard, one day recreational tripto famous Khewra Mines was arranged for the staffmembers. LSE also expects all Employees to maintaingood discipline at all times in order to promote a healthyatmosphere needed for the smooth conduct of businessactivities. We also plan to organize health talks and sportsactivities. We raise awareness among employees of thebenefits of leading a healthy lifestyle. The dress code wasstrictly implemented to maintain the office etiquette.ADMINISTRATION & PROCUREMENTManagement MeetingsAs a regular feature, LSE holds management meetingsfrequently which are attended by all the departmentalheads and is chaired by the Managing Director of the<strong>Exchange</strong>. Departmental issues and progress arediscussed and follow up actions are also reviewed in thosemeetings.Security of the BuildingIn view of prevailing security threats faced by the nation,LSE continued to strengthen the security of the Buildingand remained high alert for providing safe and secureenvironment for the market participants. Moreover, firefighting drills were regularly conducted to check theworking and validity of firefighting equipments installedin the Building.ANNUAL REPORT 2011-12 55
