S&S® TWO CABLE THROTTLE ASSEMBLIESThe S&S two cable throttle assemblies are high quality"pull open – pull close" type throttles designedfor use on any two cable carburetor installationson bikes with 1” O.D. handlebars. A special soft plasticmaterial used to mold the grips makes them look and feelexactly like stock grips. There are four different assembliesavailable to make installation on most chassis easy.TWO CABLE THROTTLE REQUIREDS&S Super E and G carburetors require the use of a two cable, pullopen–pull closed throttle assembly. Any chassis including 1980and earlier stock models equipped with a single cable throttlemechanism requires conversion to a two cable, pull open–pullclosed type. S&S offers high quality two cable throttle assemblies forthis purpose. Stock big twin models from 1981 to present have a twocable throttle and should not require changing. Super E and G Carbkits for 1990 and later models come with the new longer throttlecable guide bracket which allows the use of the stock CV stylethrottle cables. However, the longer throttle cable guide bracketcan not be used on 1987-’03 Harley-Davidson® Sportster® modelsdue to clearance problems. Therefore, Sportster models 1987-’03originally fitted with a constant velocity (CV) carb require conversionto butterfly style throttle cables to work with the S&S butterfly typecarburetor. S&S Super E carb kits for 2004-’05 Sportster models aredesigned to accept the stock throttle cables.NOTE:1998 and later carbureted Buell® models require the use of stock1996 throttle assembly and S&S throttle cables when installinga Super E or G carburetor.NOTE:The chart on this page is used only when using throttle cablebracket 11-2339. This bracket is standard on all S&S Super E & Gcarburetor kits for big twins 1989 and earlier and all kits forSportster models with the exception of the kit for 2004-’05 models.Carburetor kits for 1990 and later big twin models come with thelonger cable bracket 11-2338 for use with stock CV throttle cables.Super E and G carburetors ordered for big twin models 1981 andlater are being shipped with the correct throttle cable bracket tofit the stock cables. Big twin carbs that are not year specific will beshipped with both cable brackets.
