Our last competition was Trust Gym whereArtemis placed 4th on vault which was a wonderfulachievement.Finally we had our annual Gym and Danceshow where all of the girls were able to show theirfriends and family what they had learnt this year. Asalways the show was a huge success and was thoroughlyenjoyed by everyone. I'd just like to congratulatethe girls on everything they've achieved and tosay thank you for all their hard work, as its been afantastic year!India K, Senior Gymnastics Captain, Year12HockeyWe’ve had a busy hockey season this year withweekly matches and Trust tournaments. We’ve hadour wins and also some losses, but in amongstthose, some really special successes. Hannah V ofthe U15 team was selected for the Middlesex hockeysquad against tough competition. All the hockeyteams have had many successful fixture wins fromYears 7 to 11, and the senior team, against otherelite schools such as Godolphin and Latymer andKing Alfred’s.Winners of the Camden <strong>School</strong>s’ Cross CountryGymnastics and Dance showThis year <strong>South</strong> <strong>Hampstead</strong> hockey playershave had success in the Middlesex <strong>School</strong>s’Tournaments with the U15 team Middlesex roundfinishing 3rd overall, having defeated some difficultopponents. The senior team also placed inMiddlesex and although they didn’t make it throughto the final round, they fought out two competitivematches against Mill Hill and Latymer.The hockeygirls in Years 7-9 who have been selected to representCamden in the London Youth Games must alsobe congratulated for their achievement. We wishthem the best of luck and hope that the team willbe as successful as in previous years when <strong>South</strong><strong>Hampstead</strong> placed 4th from thirty three boroughsand won the Fair Play award. Seniors finished 4thoverall in their two pools at Trust.Throughout the year, we’ve had extra trainingsessions for all years while the hockey captainand CSLA girls have taken on coaching roles withYear 7-8, encouraging them and improving theirskills. There are even more hard training sessions inthe build up to Barbados to ensure a high quality ofhockey when we go on tour.Meanwhile at the Junior <strong>School</strong>, the youngYear 5s and 6s are showing great potential and aresure to add even more talent to the Senior <strong>School</strong>teams next year.Natalie D, Senior Hockey Captain, Year122009-2011 <strong>School</strong> Magazine 39
