Once the first day at Skern was overthere was still much more to come. One of the main highlights of the trip foreveryone was Ewetopia, an indoor adventure parkwith the steepest slides that we had seen in ourlives. At first most of us were trembling at the sightof the slides but once we had got the hang of it, itwas amazingly fun. Another great, fear conqueringactivity was Hartland Day; we all abseiled down ahigh cliff and climbed some rocky hills and cliffs. Itwas extremely exciting and thrilling once we hadreached our goal. The high ropes course was veryView at lunch break, World Challenge, 2010popular too, though in the monkey bars I think ourhighest score was the fourth rung out of abouteight. Some of the teachers had fun slipping downthe net that was intended to be climbed up! TheHalloween Disco was great, with everyone includingthe teachers dressed up in terrifying costumes withprizes for the best outfits.Overall, Skern Lodge was a success withgreat fun and some bonding between friends whohad to help each other during one of the challengingactivities. We all had a fantastic time.Sofia C, Year 7Skiing trip to Bardonecchia, Italy February half term, thirty students with Ms N Sweeney, Mrs J Coates, MsB Stockdale and Mrs L BrennanThe World Challenge group, 2010Taking a break from skiing46
