GENERAL DYNAMICS <strong>IN<strong>FOR</strong>MATION</strong> TECHNOLOGY, INC.LABOR CATEGORY DESCRIPTONSSenior Consultant Level III:Minimum/<strong>General</strong> Experience:This position requires at least 15 years’ experience. Alsorequires advanced knowledge of specific area of currenttechnology, as required. May also require advancedknowledge of the principles, methods, and techniquesused in area of technical expertise and advancedknowledge of or certification in specific applications orprocesses depending on job assignment.Functional Responsibilities:Performs highly specialized and technical tasksassociated with the most current and cutting-edgetechnologies. Serves as a technical consultant to aproject or a number of projects dealing with area oftechnical expertise. Maintains current knowledge ofrelevant hardware and software applications andtechnologies in area of expertise as assigned; generallyrecognized as a leader in the industry in their area ofexpertise; is sought out by others in their area ofexpertise for advice and guidance; viewed as a strategicplayer with incites into industry developments.Analyzes user needs to determine functionalrequirements for a wide variety of projects; performstechnical assessments aimed at improving clientsystems; performs functional allocations to identify tasksand their inter-relationships; researches, identifies, andrecommends resources required for task execution andcompletion; performs functional modeling based onrequirements analysis; develops new systems or updatesexisting systems to meet client needs. Also serves astechnical expert/technical advisor to clients in assignedsubject areas; recommends functional changes andidentifies areas for further investigation; generatesrecommendations to senior level client personnel;consults with clients to determine optimum design forassigned projects; develops strategies and pursuesopportunities for leveraging project funding sources.Identifies emergent relevant technologies that may resultin improvements to current processes.
